  2. "Karen Country Club, Nairobi, Kenya....
  3.     Karen Country Club is situated on 216 acres of land twelve miles west
  4. of Nariobi.  The course was laid out in 1931 on farmland formerly owned 
  5. by Baroness Karen von Blixen, after whom the district takes its name and
  6. where she wrote her classic novel, OUT OF AFRICA. "
  7.    Total yardage- 6,893. Par-72.
  8.      This is my second JNSE course and is my first "real" course. I noticed
  9. while looking at my course collection one day, that I had no "Africa"
  10. courses. There is a North African course, "Royal Rabat", out there, but
  11. there didn't seem to be any courses in the heart of the continent. I
  12. recalled seeing some courses in my "World Atlas of Golf" book and so I
  13. took it out and thumbed through. I found two: this one and Chapman G.C.
  14. in Harare, Zimbabwe.  Chapman had alot of water, though and I was tired
  15. of playing water courses and I also would like to go to Kenya some day.
  16. Thus I decided to do Karen Country Club.  Once again, this is a "real"
  17. course and I reproduced the course layout as accurately as possible.  
  18. I even made up three original objects/animals : A lion, a springbok, and
  19. a zebra.  I think the lion and springbok are quite good. The zebra is
  20. awful, though, and if you don't like them wandering on YOUR course, you
  21. can always go into the designer and drive them off!!  I borrowed the
  22. background from Dan Raftery's Oakmont C.C. Other objects were borrowed
  23. from various other courses and I wish to thank the designers for making
  24. them so I could use them here!  
  25.    One last note...This course was made for you to enjoy. I do not 
  26. pretend to be one of the designers who takes many months making their
  27. courses. I did this course rather quickly (that is my nature) and so
  28. please excuse my logo for not being an 8 hour job.  Also, if you find
  29. any quirks, which I haven't, don't be angry. Use the designer and 
  30. change things if you want. Use the course for whatever reason you want
  31. as well.  You are free to do with it as you please.
